Interaction design

I designed a smartphone app called Culture Elephant, which enables museum visitors to record their emotional responses to artworks and artefacts.

Web design

I designed and created a WordPress website for a fictional museum about the ancient city of Ur, in modern-day Iraq.

Experience design

I designed a new approach to the online shop for the Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret. This was a fun new way to categorise the products for the Old Op Apothecary Shop.

From thinking through all the products, developing categories inspired by the museum’s collection, designing new pages around an optimised visitor experience and journey, and even writing all the creative new pieces of text, Charlotte’s innovation and enthusiasm have been instrumental in this project.”

Writing and editing

I write creative and engaging content, tailoring it for different audiences, purposes and platforms. I bring knowledge of digital storytelling and gamification, combined with significant experience in education.

Web copy

I wrote the descriptive text for the Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret’s new shop categories, tying in with the tone and humour of the Old Op Apothecary Shop.

Digital storytelling

I researched and wrote an interactive story about surgery in the 1820s for the Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret. The user steps into the role of a surgeon and makes life-and-death decisions about a patient’s treatment.

Gamification

I designed and prototyped a gamified, murder-mystery heritage tour of my local area. The design uses audio, locative narrative and augmented reality to immerse the user in Wood Green in 1912.

Development editing, copyediting and proofreading

I have extensive editorial experience, having worked at Pearson Education, Bloomsbury Publishing and Rhinegold Publishing, across a range of print and digital educational resources.
